Care guide
Peace Lily
Spathiphyllum wallisii
Nature's air purifier - elegant and forgiving.

The Peace Lily is one of the best indoor plants for beginners. It thrives in low light, tells you when it's thirsty by drooping slightly, and rewards you with beautiful white blooms. It's also a NASA-certified air purifier.
Care guide
Water
Weekly
Water once a week. Let the top inch of soil dry out between waterings. It will droop slightly when thirsty - a helpful signal. Never let it sit in standing water.
Light
Low to medium indirect
Thrives in low to medium indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight - it will scorch the leaves. A spot a few feet from a window works perfectly.
Humidity
High · 60%+
Prefers high humidity. Mist the leaves occasionally or place on a pebble tray with water to boost moisture in the air.
Temperature
18 - 27°C
Keep in warm, draught-free spots. Avoid placing near air conditioners or cold windows. It dislikes temperatures below 13°C.
Fertiliser
Monthly (Spring-Summer)
Feed with a diluted liquid fertiliser once a month during spring and summer. Skip feeding in winter when growth slows.
Soil
Well-draining potting mix
Use a rich, well-draining potting mix. Repot every 1-2 years when roots start crowding the pot.
Pro tips
- 1
Yellow leaves usually mean overwatering - let the soil dry more between waterings.
- 2
Brown tips often mean the air is too dry or water has too many chemicals - use filtered water if possible.
- 3
Wipe leaves with a damp cloth monthly to help it breathe and keep it looking lush.
- 4
It blooms best when slightly root-bound, so don't rush to repot.
Important
- Toxic to cats and dogs if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets.
- Mildly irritating to skin - wash hands after handling.
